Tsunku, alongside Shikura Chiyomaru with which he has collaborated many times before, will open up an idol café in November in Akihabara that will be named AKIHABARA Backstage Pass.
In short, the concept of this idol café is that the employees will all be girls dreaming to become idols and debut later on (alongside other idols who alreadu debuted but who will take part in the project), where the customers are the judges. The café was also said to collaborate with video games, brands, etc.. in the near future.
Since it’s my first time hearing about an idol café in such details (I never paid attention to them until now), I was really amazed by such an amazing idea that is to put aspiring idols to work in a café in order to train them, test their strength and will to become idols, and apart from the fact that this is an amazing experience for the girls themselves having to deal with different people that are the customers, get to know each other, etc… I’m also really surprised to see that Tsunku will start such a big project even though he always has great ideas.
Apart from this brief description of what the café will be like, many speculations regarding Tsunku’s choice of opening the café in Akihabara next to AKB48′s theater are starting to spread, but I personally think that as idol fans in general, everyone should be putting aside these comments since we can never know the real reason behind this choice, and just focus on the amazing idea that this café is and of the pleasure it will give for both the training idols and the customers that will enjoy being served by girls in training to become idols one day.
Overall, this whole concept got me really excited into finding out more about how the girls working at the café will be chosen, how will they later on debut, how regularly will the chosen ones be changed, etc… so hopefully more information will be out soon after the café opens up its doors!
The café will open in late November.
