Goto Maki – “YOU” PV Released

Goto Maki – “YOU” PV Released

A PV for a track from Goto Maki’s album titled YOU has been released.
Since this is Goto’s last album before she takes a break I was expecting her to go all out with her songs and I wasn’t disappointed at all since the song and the PV are both some of the best I have seen from her due to the strong sound it has, and while it might not be an upbeat song it’s still an amazing song for this album since it shows off her voice perfectly.
It’s a ballad so the theme of the song is a bit slower than other past R&B releases by Goto, but I have to admit that I loved it, especially with the PV since it’s simply a work of art how they manage to add so many different scenes that contrast with each other.
There are three main scenes: Goto singing in a black dress alongside a tree in a dark setting, Goto in a fancy outfit in a bright fancy room, and Goto in the middle of what appears to be a nest with a very art-styled look. The main shot of the PV is the dark setting from where we get to see Goto singing and expressing herself, but there are quite a lot of scenes of her in the fancy room, although apart from singing a few times it doesn’t have that much action.
There are quite a few more scenes such as that of a crow as well as Goto playing with a marionette, but they seem to be aimed more at adding to the style of the PV since they appear more towards the beginning of the PV (the scene with the marionette played quite a few times throughout the PV though). The scene with the crow goes along with the scene of Goto in the dark setting impressively well, especially when the crow flies toward the camera while she sings since it adds a bit more of an impact to the song.
Toward the middle of the PV we also get to see Goto in what appears to be a birds nest, and for the most part it was an amazing addition since it added a bit more of a visual impact to the PV, but the main focus of the shot was more on the visual side so there aren’t that many scenes of her singing in that setting.
Overall the PV has the same theme as the song: a calm but powerful song full of contrasting themes that are visually amazing, and while I would have liked to see a more upbeat song I am glad that Goto got such a great PV for this song. Each one of the themes show Goto in a different theme, and while I briefly mentioned them I encourage everyone to take a look at the PV so they can find out for themselves how great it turned out.
Hopefully we get to see other PVs from this album since it seems like a solid release so far.
The release date is set for 11/2.
