There’s only a two releases for today but regardless of that they’re still important milestones for both groups, one of them is the 1st Single V for their sub-members and the other release is the last album featuring Ai Takahashi and the first for the 9th gen members. The releases today are for:
- S/mileage-Tachiagaaru (Single V)
- Morning Musume- 12 Smart (Album)
S/mileage Tachiagaaru Single V
1. Tachiagaaru (MV)
2. Tachiagaaru (Close-up ver)
3.Making Of
3.Making Of
AdoFor the most part I loved S/mileage’s new single since it has a cute sound, and while there are almost no lines for the new members it still is a pretty solid release from the group.
The Single V features the normal PV, along with a close-up and a Making of, which is pretty standard and not really that unique although fans will probably love it nonetheless.

Up until now I haven’t had a chance to see the full PV for this single, but seeing it now I am happy to see that despite the strong focus on the original members they did show off a few shots with the others, although the word “few” is strongly emphasized since most of the shots feature the new members either in the background or as part of a few solo shots where they sing along to one line of the song.
Apart from that the PV has a very interesting theme since the background takes part in a desert with brightly colored UFO’s in the background, and with the close up shots featuring the members holding glow sticks it adds to the cute UFO theme.
The PV is impressive, but like I mentioned before the PV is focused a bit too much on the original members, and while the next release will most likely not have this problem it seems that they could have promoted the new sub-members a bit better instead of a random shot here and there.
Despite that the video is another S/mileage hit so I highly recommend S/mileage fans to get the Single V if they liked the PV. The close-up shot isn’t available at the moment, but like the name states it will probably feature close-ups and not much else.

AdoMomusu’s 12th album is a likely candidate for the most awaited release this year for two reasons, it’s the last Momusu release to feature Ai-chan and it’s the first to feature the 9th gen.
Seeing the covers and tracklist makes me really happy as a Momusu fan since we get to see a fair balance of new releases as well as all previous Momusu releases since the last album. To be exact there are more new songs than there are older releases, so hopefully it will encourage fans to check out this release.
Starting with the covers we can see that they went for an angelic theme, which looks amazing since every member looks gorgeous. As a Mizuki, Kanon, Gaki, and Sayu fan I’m really happy to see that they all look incredible, especially Mizuki who looks as beautiful as always.
The covers are easy to distinguish since the Regular edition features everyone posing in clouds, while the Limited edition features a more inspiring look with the members lookin to the sides (Reina and Sayu are the only ones looking toward the camera). For the most part the covers are among the best I have seen for the group since everyone is easy to see and the outfit really stands out from other releases.
There are quite a lot of new releases along with the older Momusu singles so I’ll briefly review my favorites from the album instead of going through each song.
Starting off with my favorite song, Suki da na Kimi ga featuring Sayu and Mizuki. Mizuki is easily my favorite 9th gen member, so I’m really happy to see that she and Sayu, someone who usually doesn’t get any lines, both star in their own song since their voices really match.
I’m a pretty big fan of techno music so I was really happy to hear that it has a catchy and cute beat that shows off both of their voices well, although it’s somewhat hard to tell Mizuki’s voice sometimes since her voice is a bit deeper than Sayu. Despite that they did an amazing job with this song showing off a cute and techno filled song with a catchy beat that many fans will love.
OK YEAH! also makes my list of favorite songs since it has a catchy and upbeat sound that’s perfect for concerts since it really gives you a boost of energy. Apart from the upbeat sound it has many fun and catchy effects, such as the vocal effects during a few lines before the chorus.
Give Me Love rounds up my top three songs of the album since it has a sound that seems to follow in Nanchatte Renai‘s footsteps, and since that is among my favorite singles it’s no surprise to see that I love it.
The classical instrumental mixed in with the electronic beat really make the song stand out from other songs in the album. As for the vocals I really loved how everyone sounded, especially Riho who seems to be well on her way to be the Reina and Ai-chan of the 9th gen.
Apart from the songs we also get to see Ai-chan’s solo PV for her last song as a member, and for the most part it’s an amazing PV since it shows off the feelings of the song perfectly while giving everyone a brief nostalgic glimpse into Ai-chan’s legacy. Praising it again would simply be repeating what everyone has already said, so I’ll let the video speak for itself.
This is the last album to feature Ai and although she’s already graduated I think that as a final album this fits perfectly for her.
The cover is somewhat of a mixed bag for me, I like the angel concept idea but nothing really stands out for me. None of the members are posing in a way that really stands out and the outfits are nice and all but they blend in with the clouds real easily so it’s hard to see anything at all. If it’s not the clouds that are making them blend in it’s the other member outfits, though like I said before I do like the angel theme and it gives the cover a nice laid back feel and it’s just a cover and the most important thing is the album’s content.
I haven’t had a chance to sit down and really listen to all the songs on the album yet but from the few song previews I got to listen to, one stood out for me a lot for me and I wanted to comment on that song.
The song is Ok Yeah! It reminds me of a mix between Fantasy ga Hajimaru, Motto aishite hoshii no andOnly You. The song is very techno like with a fast beat and a catchy sound to it. I only got to listen to a short preview of Ok Yeah! but I was really impressed by it and I think I have to name it one of my favorite songs from this album since I can’t stop listening to it.
So since I didn’t listen to all the songs I didn’t want to give this album a rating yet because basing the entire album off the cover and a few song previews doesn’t seem fair. I do believe though that the album is a very solid one and I hope that everyone will support Morning Musume by reserving a copy.
